Ballroom and Latin Classes

All Ballroom and Latin classes covering Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha, Jive and samba, run every week and are on a roll on roll off pay as you learn basis at various venues and times, please click here for full details.

No booking, no fees up front, just turn up.
The cost of classes is £5 and there is ample parking at all venues.

Basic Beginners

These classes are for the complete beginner concentrating on just enough steps to get you around any dance floor comfortably and confidently,
Everyone has a different pace of learning and you will know when you are ready for more steps.

Learning basic steps from one Latin and one Ballroom dance per week on a roll on roll off basis so every 5 weeks the same two dances and steps are repeated again.

No partner is required for beginners classes,

Improvers

These classes are for those who feel confident enough to want to learn more steps, style and technique, with some dances it will feel like starting all over again but as you will have realised by now it takes time and it all comes together in the end.

We always encourage people attending these classes at first to try and keep attending the beginners classes for as long as possible and may be do the two hours, after all you only pay for one class, the rest is free.
Eventually you will find nearly all the answers to your questions regarding any dance in this class, in our experience of over 34 years of teaching, this is the most important class towards any road you wish to take your own dancing.

A partner is required for improvers and above levels.

Intermediate

Who can say how long it takes to get to this level ? " How long is a piece of string".
These classes are for those who have a good sound knowledge of the basics and improvers levels.

Apparently the teacher is a bit "picky" at intermediate levels because they include more "twiddly and twirly" bits and he wants you to go out there and look good as well as feeling good

Intermediate level 2 also includes the Vienese Waltz

Junior Dance Classes

Junior dance classes are held every week at the Ridgeway School Hall, Moorland Road Plympton.
Ages 4 -15 years.

We hold 3 medal tests per year with the United Kingdom Alliance of Dance Teachers a long with medal presentations partys.
These test are not compulsory and are an indication of your childs ability and attendance.
We feel that they are another step towards children gaining more confidence.

Dance shoes are not required pre bronze tests, but please see Bob for advise of your childs footwear.

Please do not send your child to dance class in high heels.
